Who You Are
You are a dedicated Placement and Assessment Officer within the Looked After Children Service, specifically in the Access to Resources Integrated Service team. Your purpose is to ensure that the needs of children and young people in care are met by commissioning appropriate placements and support services. You are responsible for the assessment of all commissioned resources including Independent Fostering Agencies, Residential, and Semi-Independent resources, ensuring that they align with Best Value principles.
What the Job Involves
Your primary job responsibilities include conducting Quality Assurance visits to various placements, creating detailed assessment reports, and developing an annual assessment program. You will manage and analyze management information, leading commissioning processes that ensure value for money and meet the Council’s objectives. You will frequently travel across the country for assessments and work closely with internal and external partners, safeguarding the welfare of children and providing guidance to social workers.
