Arboriculture Officer (PO2)
Enfield Council
Role
Who You Are
We are looking for an arboricultural professional to join our thriving tree service. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working in urban areas, carrying out tree inspections, surveys, diagnosing tree defects/diseases, and specifying remedial works. You must have good knowledge of tree legislation and be adept at using tree decay detection equipment. You should also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Council officers, Councillors, Developers, Community groups, and the Public. We value personal drive and initiative, and candidates who are eager to learn and improve will thrive in this role.
What the Job Involves
As an Arborist, you will join a team of arboriculture officers responsible for the management and inspection of the Council’s tree stock. Your primary responsibilities will include carrying out risk management and providing specialist arboricultural advice. You will issue works to our Contractor and In-house tree service and undertake a variety of duties beyond technical arboriculture, such as financial management, general administration, responding to member’s enquiries, and contract management. An Assistant role is also available, which will involve supporting the Arborist with less accountability and responsibility, under the guidance of an experienced arboriculture officer.
