What the Job Involves
As a Lawyer (Adults Safeguarding), you will handle a legal caseload related to adult social care, including Court of Protection proceedings, DOLs, safeguarding, and homelessness. You will work collaboratively with partner organizations and stakeholders to support the Council's legal services goals. You will also provide advocacy, advice to client officers, and prepare reports and legal documentation. Occasional attendance at committee and evening meetings may be required.
Skills
- Qualified solicitor, barrister, or CILEX
- Experience in adult safeguarding legal matters
- Strong oral and written communication
- Good case management and client care skills
- Ability to draft legal documentation
- Advocacy skills desirable
- Knowledge of local government law is a plus
