Lawyer (Adults Safeguarding)
Who You Are
You are a qualified Solicitor of England and Wales, Barrister, or CILEX with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience or 3 years pre-qualification experience in adult social care law. You possess excellent oral and written communication skills and an understanding of good case management, client care, and time recording/billing. You are adaptable and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders with a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults.
What the Job Involves
As a Lawyer (Adults Safeguarding), you will handle a legal caseload related to adult social care including Court of Protection proceedings, DOLs, adult safeguarding, education, homelessness, and more. You will be responsible for providing legal advice, undertaking advocacy, preparing reports, conducting research, and supporting your team. Occasional evening meetings may be required. You will coach, mentor, and support colleagues within Legal Services and the wider Council, promoting equality, diversity, and health and safety policies.
