You possess excellent communication skills and have a strong customer service orientation. You are knowledgeable about the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice 2015. Building effective relationships and engaging in partnership working with a range of stakeholders is a key strength. You demonstrate strong organizational skills that allow you to manage change, meet conflicting demands, and ensure deadlines are met efficiently.
What the Job Involves
As an SEN Duty Coordinator, you will provide comprehensive services to support the Local Authority in fulfilling its statutory duties related to special educational needs assessment and provision. Your responsibilities include drafting and amending Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs), attending and coordinating meetings with stakeholders, supporting staff during busy periods or absences, ensuring that statutory deadlines are met, and engaging with families and educational settings to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people with SEND. You will work collaboratively with internal and external partners, ensuring processes are smooth and person-centered.
