Who You Are

A dedicated and ambitious legal professional with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in commercial property, regeneration, and development work. You are a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or a Fellow of CILEX who thrives in a collaborative environment and can operate effectively with minimum supervision. What the Job Involves

• Provide comprehensive legal services to the Council, Schools, and Local Authority Trading Companies.
• Manage a caseload of complex and politically sensitive legal matters with an emphasis on property, regeneration/planning, and housing.
• Collaborate constructively with partner organizations and stakeholders.
• Deliver training and guidance on relevant developments in law and policy.
• Advise members in public and private meetings, including committees and sub-committees.
• Contribute to the management and strategy of the Legal Services Team.
• Occasional attendance at evening meetings may be required.

Skills

• Qualified Solicitor/Barrister/CILEX with at least 5 years post-qualification experience
• Strong knowledge in commercial property law
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to draft complex legal documents under time pressure
• Experience providing informal coaching and supervision
• Proven capability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
• Desirable: Understanding of local government law and procedures
