Who You Are
You are an experienced Social Worker with at least three years of hands-on experience in local authority children's social care. You possess a degree in Social Work and are registered with the HPCP. You have a deep understanding of child development, relevant social policy, and key legislation, with a focus on safeguarding. Your excellent communication skills extend to direct work with children and collaborating with parents or carers to prioritize children's needs. You are adept at working in culturally and ethnically diverse communities, valuing diversity and equality.
What the Job Involves
This role involves providing assessment, care management, and social work services to disabled children and their families under local government guidelines. As part of Cheviots Children’s Disability Service, you will manage care plans, liaise with various agencies, and ensure the best use of resources. You will also contribute to the development of specialized resources for children with disabilities, engage in training, and participate in team meetings. Duties include preparing reports for legal proceedings, managing child protection plans, and working flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
