Who You Are
As a Social Worker, you are committed to providing high-quality assessment, care management, and social work services to disabled children and their families. You possess a Social Work degree and are HPCP registered, with a strong knowledge and understanding of child development, relevant social policy, and key legislation. You have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work in partnership with parents/carers, ensuring that children's needs are paramount. Your familiarity with diversity/equality principles will serve you well in this culturally diverse environment.
What the Job Involves
Your role involves carrying out assessments and care management, recommending and reviewing service provisions, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. You will manage, monitor, and review care plans for disabled children, liaise with other professionals, and ensure compliance with Children Services policies and guidelines. Additionally, you will prepare reports for court proceedings, work flexible hours to meet statutory duties, and contribute to the development of the Cheviots Children’s Disability Service as a specialist resource for children with disabilities and their families.
Skills
- Social Work degree (minimum Upper Second) or equivalent
- HPCP registration
- Understanding of child development and safeguarding legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy for case recording and report production
- Experience in culturally diverse settings
- Familiarity with diversity/equality principles
- Knowledge of Attachment theories (desirable)
- Successful completion of ASYE (desirable)
