Who You Are
You possess substantial experience in motor vehicle technology, particularly with cars, light goods vehicles, municipal vehicles, and park equipment. You are well-versed in general hydraulic, welding, and electrical repairs. Your ability to diagnose issues in vehicles and flexible approach to work allow you to adapt to changing environments and customer needs. Working under/on vehicles at varying heights, accessing inspection pits via ladders, and recording work on computer systems are comfortable for you. You are a strong team player.
What the Job Involves
This role involves servicing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, plant, and equipment according to legislative and health and safety requirements. You'll conduct vehicle testing per VOSA regulations and ensure maintenance work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Responsibilities include supervisory duties like inducting staff and training apprentices, managing stores to maintain stock levels, providing roadside assistance, and performing diagnostic work. You will also inspect and test vehicles returning from contractors, carry out MOT testing, manage workshop cleanliness, and ensure compliance with safety policies.
