Who You Are

As a Housing Coordinator for Enfield Council, you have a background in homelessness prevention and housing advisory services. You possess a solid understanding of the Housing Act 1996 and are experienced in managing caseloads effectively with minimal supervision. You are skilled in negotiating and working with various stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives. You are adept at dealing with complex or contentious enquiries with tact and maintain high levels of customer service. You can work both independently and as part of a team.

What the Job Involves

In this role, you will provide a quality service of housing options and homeless prevention casework, ensuring compliance with statutory functions under the Housing Act 1996. You will use a variety of preventative tools to sustain tenancies, secure suitable accommodations, and offer advisement to non-priority homeless individuals, including rough sleepers. Your responsibilities will also include interpreting and explaining complex legal matters to tenants and landlords, liaising with Medical Assessment Officers, and resolving legal challenges. You will work in partnership with various departments and agencies to prevent homelessness, particularly focusing on vulnerable groups such as individuals with mental health issues, prison leavers, and those recently discharged from the hospital. Additionally, you will ensure adherence to health and safety policies and safeguarding protocols.
