You are a dedicated and experienced professional with a minimum of 2 years working directly with children, young people, and their families. You have a strong background in collaborating with various communities and agencies, both public and private. Your excellent communication skills, coupled with a strong ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment, allow you to efficiently implement family assessments and intervention strategies. You are adaptable, responsible, and committed to fostering positive change within families.
What the Job Involves
In the role of Senior Parent Support Advisor, your primary responsibility is to conduct holistic assessments of families and provide either single or multi-agency coordinated packages of support. You will empower families to tackle challenging behaviors and improve family relationships, with an emphasis on enhancing educational attendance and reducing school exclusions. Duties include:
- Working in partnership with families to enhance parenting skills
- Delivering evidence-based parenting programs
- Completing assessments and making referrals using the Early Help Framework
- Acting as a Lead Professional to coordinate services in the Team Around the Family (TAF)
- Supporting families who do not meet specialist service thresholds
- Managing complex caseloads and working collaboratively with social services to reduce case loads
Skills
- Experience with family assessments and intervention strategies
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Proficient in IT systems (Outlook, MS Office, case management systems)
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection legislation
- Knowledge of accredited parenting programs
