Who You Are
As a Senior Parent Support Advisor, you bring a minimum of 2 years’ experience working directly with children, young people, and their families, either in the family home or community settings. Your background involves effective collaboration and partnerships across diverse communities and agencies. With excellent communication skills, you can negotiate and solve problems assertively in multidisciplinary environments, and you possess a strong ability to manage complex cases and intervention strategies.
What the Job Involves
The Senior Parent Support Advisor provides holistic family assessments and coordinates support through single or multi-agency packages. You will empower families to improve challenging behaviors, enhance educational attendance and attainment, and reduce exclusions. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering evidence-based parenting programs.
- Undertaking comprehensive family assessments and managing complex caseloads.
- Coordinating services as the Lead Professional in the Team Around the Family (TAF) system.
- Providing direct support and strategic guidance to schools and other agencies.
- Maintaining detailed case documentation and adhering to safeguarding protocols.
Skills
- Knowledge of early help and integrated processes.
- Familiarity with parental issues and vulnerabilities.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection laws.
- Ability to use assessment tools and strategies to empower families.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including MS Office and case management software.
- Experience with delivering accredited parent programs (desirable).
