Who You Are

You are an enthusiastic and positive team player passionate about supporting vulnerable adults. You have experience in financial safeguarding, banking, or financial administration with direct customer contact, and the ability to deal with complex cases involving adults who may lack capacity. You possess strong numeracy, interpersonal, and customer service skills, along with knowledge of the Court of Protection, Office of the Public Guardian, and relevant legislation. You are empathetic, capable of interviewing and supporting vulnerable clients, and willing to travel within the Borough for client visits. Possessing a relevant qualification such as AAT or APAD Accreditation is desirable.

What the Job Involves

Join our Deputyship Service where you will manage the finances of adults lacking capacity to manage their own affairs, promoting their independence and protecting their best interests. Your responsibilities include managing a caseload of deputyship and appointeeship clients, preparing applications to the Court of Protection and the Department for Work and Pensions, overseeing day-to-day financial management including banking, tax returns, and benefits. You will liaise with internal teams and external agencies, provide advice on Court of Protection processes, conduct client income reviews, and assist with property and funeral arrangements. You will ensure all work complies with statutory obligations and Council policies.
