Who You Are
You are an experienced engineer with proven expertise in managing and constructing highway and active travel improvement schemes. You are capable of delivering a range of projects from inception to completion, providing expert advice on environmental and civil engineering design, highway maintenance, and asset management. You can effectively manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and effective budgetary control.
What the Job Involves
This role involves delivering a variety of complex civil engineering projects, including feasibility studies, project management, financial control, design, site supervision, and contract management. You will ensure program design standards are adhered to throughout the construction process while maintaining high-quality outputs. You will work collaboratively with project managers, oversee contractors, and ensure projects comply with legislative requirements, including Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
Skills
- Proven knowledge in civil and highway engineering
- Project management and financial control
- Effective communication and relationship-building
- Understanding of NEC4 and ICC Conditions of contracts
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices
