Who You Are
We are seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals with a strong work ethic. Ideal candidates have previous experience in grounds maintenance and a basic understanding of horticultural machinery. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and be willing to work in all weather conditions. Courtesy and politeness in dealing with the public are essential, as well as having appropriate work boots from day one.
What the Job Involves
The role involves maintaining over 100 parks and open spaces within Enfield, which includes playgrounds, sports pitches, and countryside areas. Responsibilities may extend to maintaining grass verges and green spaces on roads and housing estates within the Borough, as well as grounds in some schools. Employees will often need to travel across the Borough daily and tackle varied tasks. A short induction will be conducted prior to the start date, and some positions may require an Enhanced DBS check.
Skills
- Grounds maintenance experience - essential
- Basic horticultural machinery knowledge - essential
- Understanding of Health & Safety - essential
- Driving licence (up to 3.5 tonne) - essential, London driving experience preferred
- Plant knowledge - desirable
- Previous supervisory experience - advantageous
- Ability to follow clear instructions
- Prepared to work in all weather conditions
