Who You Are
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals who have a good work ethic and are able to work independently or as part of a team. Candidates should be prepared to work in various weather conditions and must be courteous and polite when dealing with the public. Appropriate footwear (steel toe cap) is required from the first day.
What the Job Involves
As part of the Parks team, your responsibilities will include maintaining over 100 parks and open spaces across the Borough of Enfield. This involves working on playgrounds, major countryside areas, sports pitches, grass verges, and green spaces on roads and housing estates. The role may also require you to maintain grounds at some of the Borough's schools. The position is varied and will often require daily travel throughout the Borough. Selected candidates will attend an interview and a short induction prior to starting. Some roles may require an Enhanced DBS check.
Skills
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance (essential)
- Basic horticultural machinery knowledge (essential)
- Understanding of Health & Safety (essential)
- Driving license for up to 3.5 tonnes (essential)
- Experience driving in a London Borough (preferred)
- Plant knowledge (desirable)
- Previous supervisory experience (advantageous)
- Ability to follow clear instructions and complete physical tasks unsupervised
