Role

Who You Are

We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals who have a passion for maintaining outdoor spaces. You should have a good work ethic and the ability to interact courteously and politely with the general public. Candidates are expected to have the appropriate work boots (steel toe cap) ready for their first day.

What the Job Involves

You will be part of the Parks team responsible for maintaining over 100 parks and open spaces in excellent condition. Your tasks may include grounds maintenance, using horticultural machinery, and ensuring safety standards are met. The role involves working in various weather conditions and completing physical tasks, either independently or as part of a team. A short interview process with a subsequent induction will take place before the start date is agreed upon.

Skills

  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance - Essential
  • Minimum plant knowledge – Desirable
  • Basic horticultural machinery knowledge (Strimmer’s, Hedge Cutters etc) - Essential
  • Understanding of Health & Safety - Essential
  • Ability to take and understand clear instructions - Essential
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions - Essential
  • Ability to complete physical tasks unsupervised - Essential
  • Ability to work within a team or as a lone worker - Essential
