What the Job Involves
The role includes basic food and beverage preparation, simple cooking tasks, and ensuring appropriate portion control during meal service. You will be transporting and serving meals, looking after general kitchen and dining duties, and operating a computerized meal register. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, as well as the equipment, dining room, and surrounding areas, is crucial. You need to be vigilant about accident prevention and ensure the kitchen runs smoothly. Following dress code and appearance guidelines is essential, as is reporting any equipment defects. You will need to ensure your time sheet is signed before completing your shift. The job requires flexibility in working hours, with brief shifts typically lasting 3 hours and occasionally 2.5 hours, including an unpaid break.
