As a committed and empathetic professional, you are dedicated to working collaboratively with partners to support the well-being and safety of children in Sefton. You strive to prevent children from entering the criminal justice system and help those who do by fostering positive changes and a brighter future.
What the Job Involves
You will be a part of Sefton’s Youth Justice Service, focusing on safeguarding children, promoting their welfare, and managing risk and vulnerability. This includes ensuring public protection, serving sentences, and preserving the reputation of the Department and Council. You'll draw on the resources of our local partnerships to offer the best opportunities for children to succeed. Your role may also involve the supervision of student placements.
Skills
- Recognised professional qualification in Social Work, Diploma in Probation Studies, or similar
- Significant relevant post-qualification experience in assessing and analyzing children’s needs
- Ability to devise intervention plans and support packages
- Comprehensive knowledge of youth justice legislation and safeguarding practices
- Experience working collaboratively with multiple agencies
- Proven ability to engage with hard-to-reach children and families
