What the Job Involves
The role of Court Officer involves supporting the HM Coroner during inquest hearings, which may sometimes involve graphic and distressing subject matter. Based primarily in Northallerton, with occasional travel to other venues, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running and coordination of court proceedings. This includes managing court logistics, setting up equipment, welcoming and directing families and witnesses, and ensuring accurate legal documentation. The court officer will need to efficiently manage the courtroom environment while retaining empathy and professionalism.
